Howdy Folks!

I am totaly new to smoking.  Although I have been an avid griller for MANY years, I have never attempted to smoke anything.  Primarily, I am interested in beef and red meats, with an occasional chicken, turkey, or pork butt.  I do NOT have a smoker yet, as I am still oing research into the various units available.  Any help and/or advise is greatly appreciated.  I would like to kep the cost to around $1K, though.

Cheers!

Welcome....If  you want to stay about 1k, you will be able to buy just about anything you want. Even the Yoders, Gator Pits and Langs will be in your budget....It's always fun searching. You may want to consider if you want to tend the fire on an offset, or Kamado type smoker. I personally think it is worth the extra work for the wood, or lump charcoal difference. Some elect to go with electric/propane for the less fuss. I am somewhat jealous when the electric smoker dudes and dolls get to go to bed at 11pm and wake up and finish their smoke, while us stick and charcoal peeps have to stay up all night...Lots of great products to choose from.......Happy shopping and
