I have a frozen Tri-tip. I normally do the sink full of water to thaw everything. It only me eating and hate to cook the whole thing. Guess I can cut in half and re-freezer other half?
Like this approach better. Never was a fan of re-freezing meat.I would do that. Another option you can Cooke the whole thing and freeze what you don’t eat. Heat up with a SV if you have one

Thanks. I do have a sous vide. I will go that route.I’d cook it whole then cut what you want and freeze the rest. Smoked meats reheat very well, plus with SV it’s a quick easy meal.
