Nitrate is used for dry curing meats only.

For about $12, you could measure the poison you are adding to the meat accurately, using a digital scale....

Yes, 0.04 oz. = 1.134grams...28.35 grams in 1 oz. so 28.35g. cure/25# meat = 1.134 grams per pound of meat.Does .04 ounces per pound sound about right ?
