Hi everyone.

I saw on an asian cooking show a few days ago, they smoked beef with coconut husks. They used a cooking pan lined with aluminum foil then put the husks on the foil, then the beef on a rack above the husks.

I've been wondering if anyone has tried using coconut husks before. What flavor does it give the meat?

Can't say I've tried coconut husks before. There aren't many coconut trees growing in my part of the woods. Let us know how it goes.

I'll give it a try when I get some spare time. I'm just really curious of what flavors it gives off.
There's a lot of husks at my house, never really thought of using it for smoking until I saw it on the show. Thanks!
