Cherry Wood chip not burning well

At 225 they should do great... At least by my experience. But then again, I make my own cherry wood chips though. That is, IF and WHEN I use the chip tray.
 
I have never had a problem with cherry. Just about anything I put in the chip tray burns up good.

If you get a few chips that aren't burning, that's no biggie.

As long as your getting smoke, your good to go.

Check the chip tray and it's distance to the heating element...   Sometimes, the tray is above the element a little too far to get heated up properly...   Depending on which Masterbuilt you have, depends on the type of adjustment...   

Also, cherry wood is very hard and doesn't like to burn/smolder too well...   Try using less chips so all the chips are in contact with the chip tray...   that may mean using about 1/4 cup of chips at one time...     Maybe you will have to add some apple or pear to assist the cherry in burning....  

It's fuzzy at best to try and figure out your particular situation without all the facts...     Dave
