Myself... I use 100% Pecan except in the smokehouse doing sausage.. Then I use Pit Masters Blend from A-MAZE-N (Pit Boss now) ...

I smoke with cherry quite a bit, in fact I'm picking up half a facecord tomorrow. I run it mixed with pear wood and it gives a nice, balanced flavor with great color. It's become my go to. Every once in a while if I want a more earthy profile I'll add a split of oak.
