Thanks for the heads up Norm. Had a friend a while ago that got a wire bristle stuck in his gum after a cook. I have stayed away from them ever since. I have a wooden scraper that works well or have just balled up some HD foil and that works too. Also, just to be on the safe side I will take a handful of EVOO wetted paper towels and run over the grates before cooking.
Finally got the replacement,it's nothing more than a flimsy nylon bristle unit that can be bought at any discount store. Don't waste your time the replacements are useless.
I always thought this was some urban folklore, wives tale...about the bristle ending up in food. The recall makes it real I guess, or someone used them and won - more likely.
