Hi all. I have been lurking for a while and have a small offset Char-Broil from WallyWorld. Have done a small but and ribs in 2 different smokes. But was good rib not so much. Decided that the off set was a lot of watching and fussing over for a beginer and went and got the GOSM 3405BGW last night have to season and then give it a run. This is a great site lots of great info and help. I live in Edgerton, WI and work in I/T at American Family. Going to keep the offset for when I feel more confident and don't get so worked up with the whole process. Looking forward to lots of good smokes.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I am keeping the offset so I am not going to give up on it. Just want to get a bit more comfortable with thae whole process. I am seasoning the GOSM now and am going to give a fatty a try tomorrow. I will let you know how it goes.

Nice to have you on board. Check out the downloadable 5 Day eCourse that is listed here. It is chock full of good information. Also, cruise around and you will see sections on wood, propane and electric smokers. some good stuff here, too. I'm betting that you are back to the offset pretty darn soon.
