Camp chef FTG owners.. have a ?

Question for camp chef flat top owners. I’m Putting together my camp chef FTG. And I see it says the grill grates are optional. Do you guys have your grated installed or leave them off?

If they are optional, I didn't buy them so, no I don't put the grates in.

If you are talking about the grilling grates for the ftg600 it comes with them. I have that unit and use it many times per week with the flat top but I used it once as a grill. There are much better options. Only consider this unit as a flat top and you will be happy but not worth it for the grilling part of it

like you said. I also bought this solely for a flat top. I have enough other Grills and smokers I was just wondering if I should just leave them out all together or what. Only thing I could see me using the grill grates for is to grill some hot dogs quick since I do not have a gas grill
