Most of my zoo loves sushi and most Asian inspired cooking. Sushi rolls are a particular favorite and the California roll might top the list. Anyway, my wife saw this on FB and decided to try it.

A California roll made in a bundt pan...

Very nice buddy, that would not last long here! It’d be a goner very quickly! The plate might not even be safe with my crew! 😂

Nice post!

Love it, takes the whole "roll thing" out of the equation.

I found this beautiful gem in a search.

We love to get king salmon sahsimi/sushi at Wegmans as a treat once in a while. We usually get just the salmon sashimi and a spicy King salmon roll

I used to have a sushi press like this but I just looked for it and cant find it now.

I've been getting back to some sushi roll making after years of laying down my sushi bamboo rolling mat. Got a deal on some "Krab" meat and started playing around with California rolls and also crab rangoon (not sushi, but delicious).
I found a few that look like that. And some that use the small bundt pans. More for me size wise. Ann doesn't do sushi.
My mom (RIP) and dad never liked sushi, but I think its the "raw" thing that oooged them out. I kept trying to get them to try maki (what the rolls are actually called) that only had cooked ingredients but they just wouldn't "bite".

California rolls are the "gateway drug" to sushi. My wife only tried sushi because I kept raving about it. Now that she has gotten over the raw thing, she absolutely loves almost all forms of sushi.

Maybe explain to her (Ann) this bunt prep form of California roll (best I can tell in the pic) likely has no raw fish, and likely imitation "Krab", cucumbers and avocado, etc. and rice of course. Maybe call it a California "loaf"...sometimes just the word "sushi" gives people the willies! Of course, some people actually dont like avocado...

Looks to me like this one doesn't even have seaweed in it, another ingredient that freaks some people out.

Oh, I've tried! Her biggest problem is. She doesn't like cold rice.

Steve, I asked Sheila where it came from and she said it was an Instagram post that she saw on FB. I don't even begin to know how all that works, but she said she's got it bookmarked...
