Hello! My name is Mark, I am 62 yrs old and up till yesterday I was a burnt end virgin. I could never wrap my brain around eating a point. Nasty tough fat ass piece of meat, maybe ok for burgers. So I always smoked the flat.
Well with the help of this site I tried to make burnt ends for my family. The brisket slices were ok, alright they were good. The burnt ends were the big hit! I ran out but had some point still attached to the end of the flat. Next day I trimmed it off made some minors beef broth added BBQ sauce and some hot chili sauce and did em up in a frying pan. Turned out great and they had some attitude from the chili sauce. If you don't use the point on your Packers I'll give you my address.

Brisket point is one my absolute favorite cuts of meat. I think I've made burnt ends once, but I use points all the time. I smoke it until it is butter tender then slice it. Cube a smoked or fresh point for chili and you'll think Heaven has landed in your mouth. Beef Stroganoff, beef stew, and beef vegetable soup always get a cabillion OMGs when served to guests.

Glad you discovered the joy of the brisket point, Mark. When cooked or smoked properly, it is melt-in-your-mouth tender.
