Building a drum smoker

After reading about all these UDS builds & their efficiency & how happy everyone seems to be with them, I have decided to make one & give it a try. If anyone is interested, I will take pics of my progress & post them here. Thanks for all the ideas!

We can compare notes then.  I'm slowly compiling my hardware ("Honey - what are these Home Depot charges for?"  "Things we need for the house, Dear.").  Got the pipes, nipples, ball valves, etc.  I'm going to start my build the week after Christmas.  Good luck with your build.

Found a ball valve & some nipples in my shop today but couldn't find any stainless bolts...

Got the basket welded up finally. It was quicker to bring it in the house where my camera was than to bring the camera to it - I was starving & wanted something to eat right away lol.

I'm going to try & get the drum burnt out tomorrow if I get the chance. Stuff keeps coming up & preventing me from working on it.
