Little More Turf than Surf ( until later that night )
Beef ribs, corn and potatoes with fresh caught Mackerel

This is the second cook from 2 weeks ago +/-, that I mentioned earlier

Coated the Wagyu ribs with MC Holy Cow rub, let sit for an hour
Onto the Q with tube of Black Cherry chips, these only took about 3 hours as I cut into singles
Boiled up corn on the cob and when ready wrapped in foil with a little water to keep them steaming on the top shelf of the Q.
Boiled up potatoes also.

Rubbed up

On the Q, after the rub rest.

Coming along nicely, and wrapped in a tray to hold while the rest is getting ready

4.jpg 5.jpg

Corn ready and wrapped up and ribs resting, Potatoes boiling in the pot also. Now off to the surf

Mona and Her sister just caught a feed of small Mackerel off the Pier at The Loop, and that is what they wanted with the boiled potatoes. The ones ( Mackerel ) that are running now are twice this size or bigger.

Just flour salt and pepper for these, They would not let me add any lemon or even lemon pepper, Its theirs so I stayed off them. Don't cross a Lady and her fried fish

The spread for supper , And that is a fresh Banana Loaf Mona whipped up.

This rack of ribs was very good and had a little more meat then the ones I cooked back in March.
But very tasty and juicy.

And a little Banana Bread with my butter, ..... thats how I like it .

Well I did say a little more Turf than Surf, because of all the veg.

BUT later that night I went and got the girls a couple treats , and boiled them up

They had a great snack after dark , as that is when I found them just walking by the Pier at the Loop,

Boiled them up
1 was 3 pounds and the second one was 2.2 pounds, they were very happy , Boiled, cracked and dipped into hot butter..... gross. They said they were fantastic, I will take their word on that.

Thanks for looking , and I hope everyone had a great Long weekend if you could.

That is out of bounds David! Man all that looks great!!! Wish you were down the street becasue I would be running right over!

Looks amazing David!

Had a great holiday weekend just hanging out with my wife and daughter and working on a few small projects around home!

With pics of a meal like that, I don’t really need to ask how your weekend went! 😀

I was just up in Maine in the Freeport/Portland area. Was watching a two guys pound the Macks on both jigs and sabiki rigs from their boat just off the rocks. The fish were easily within reach and like a dumbass I didn't bring any gear with me on this trip.

That looks like a great feast to be sure! And topped of with lobster and butter? Wish I were there!

Thanks Aj for the like and the comment

It was a very good meal, and loved the ribs even better then the first ones as there was a little more meat on them, as for the Lobster and butter , you could have had my share , as long as you fight the ladies for it, because I had to stand back , lol

It was a great meal David, and I like the fresh mountian air , so I would enjoy down your street . Also because of all the wild life you have there, Mona would go out of her mind.... ( more then normal ) lol

Wow David that is an amazing spread! Kinda wishing I was sitting at your table tonight.

Thanks Shawn for the like and the comment

The meal was very good , and there is always room for more at our table.
But the lobster time was all elbows up for sure, danger zone . Glad I don't like it .

Glad you spent some quality time with the family on the weekend.

This meal was 2 weeks ago, and it was fun meal and the hunting that night was fun also.
This weekend weather sucked , that is why I started doing my preserves, Pickles so far.

Great looking meal David! I would have destroyed one of those lobsters!

Thanks Steve for the Love and the comment

Meal was very nice and had my fill of the beef ribs and corn.

You could have had my share of the Lobster , if you could pry it from Mona's butter soaked fingers, lol

Yes the Mackerel are running strong right now And a lot bigger then the ones the girls caught that say.

Too bad you forgot your fishing gear, they are fun to catch on multi hook lines.

I was on the floating dock the other day ( Saturday ) just checking things after the storm blew through and the Mackerel were schooling again 2 feet away from me, you could see them right through the water.
With I could get the video to post here .

You can see their heads and gill plates shinning through the water

The girls had their fill on all the sea food for sure , for that day anyway, lol
Going back down on Friday, so hope to catch some more of everything again.

Yes Lobster are very pricy even for here on the ocean.
Roughly $19.54 pound.... that is just stupid.
