Brinkmann conversion upgrade

I've got a side smoker Brinkmann. It was great in the past but it could be better. The fuel chamber leaks so I need to seal it. I want to make this a reverse air flow. The vent will be tubbed and the door will probably get an L channel, insulation to prevent leaks. I have studied other mods and looked at what others have done but they seem to be lacking. I would like to do this right and was wondering if there was a cfm calculation or conversion to make this mod great. Post any links you may have please!

Can you post a picture of what you have? That might help illustrate what it is that you want to accomplish.

That's a good place to start. I converted a Char-Griller (similar) to a RF smoker without too much trouble. Yours has a better lid design.

great!!  now i just need to make sure i have my terminology right when i measure lol
