Sorry in advance for not having more pictures!
This is something ive had in my head for a while now. I love sausage and krout.....and I love "bangers and mash" then on top of all that I love some kind of Apple with pork... So I came up with an idea to kind of incorporate it all together.

The brats are a very mild smooth textured pork. I used one of my recipes found here
...https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/threads/white-brats.289264/
This time I used hog casings and did not add any of the lemon zest... This made for the very mild creamy sausage.

The gravy..... Very simple.. Diced up two granny Smith's and cooked until soft in a little butter. Once soft I added a small can of krout drained. Dusted some flower on and cooked a few minutes longer to get rid of the raw flour taste. Then added veggie broth and simmered until thickened to my liking.

The mash is just simple mashed taters. You can do them however you like.

Top the taters with a couple of brats and then pour on the "gravy"!

This turned out just as I imagined it would!
Real good stuff!!
Thanks for taking a look!

Oh man, I want some of that!!! Plate is nearly identical to how I make mine but cheat and use applesauce. Dare you to try using bacon grease with the kraut once.

That's different. I like seeing innovation around here. Saves me from the same old Brats on Buns with assorted toppings...JJ

Looks great. You just reminded me of a crockpot thing I used to do. 2 rings of smoked spicy sausage cut up (used to get an awesome Cajun and Andouille) can of good krout and 1 or 2 apples cored and sliced up.
