I got this "Wild turkey Rare breed" Gift set for my B-Day.
I have never heard of this before or just didn't notice it.
When I buy turkey, I just look for the 101 label and go.

Should I drink it (I really want to) or should I save it?

Details;
It's 108 proof. A barrel-proof bourbon ( bottled directly from a variety of barrels at the proof it reaches in those barrels, with no added water to lower the proof or dilute the flavor) that marries 6-, 8- and 12 year old stocks.

.

It sounds like something you might want to share with some good friends who would appreciate it. I might save it long enough to get them all together.

I'm not sure I could wait, or I might be mighty picky about which friends I invite! That's some good stuff!!!

Take care, have fun, and do good!

Regards,

OUCH!!!! Isn't sipping whiskey "on the rocks" kinda like using Shop Rite brand briquettes to smoke with?? Sippin' whiskey should be sipped without the outside influences of frozen water (in my opinion!).

As a fine whiskey sipper, ice as it melts brings out the distinct flavors of the whiskey. Definitely pour over ice.

I usually go with maybe 2 cubes, so's not to dilute it too much. But I do like the mild chill ice gives.

And Rare Breed isn't all that 'rare" but it's a good bottle, and not inexpensive either. Never seen a wood box package tho. But then again, I don't usually look for Turkey, altho I do like it. Enjoy with good company!

i am with ken........tho i know you got this as a gift..........

now i know this is not even in the same ball park, of that fine gift you got......

but when i buy collectors........budwieser puts one out every year.....yea i know its just beer.........but i buy a second one......open one.......keep the other.........looks like 50 years from now......be worth some money.........but thats the greed in me.........hehehe.......i don't do hard liquour, since the last time it did me............

Well after considering saving it hoping it would appreciate in value, well.......

I couldn't take it anymore and cracked it open! That's some good stuff!

If you like Wild Turkey's products, give their "Russell's Reserve" a try. Aged 10 years, and another 101 proof spirit if memory serves me. Good stuff. Smooth, with a really nice faint sweet finish.
