Hi all,
I purchased a steak from a butchershop. It has some sort of greyish/white on there that doesn't seem like oxidation.
Any ideas of this is safe to consume?

Thanks!

Meat sometimes loses its red color when exposed to oxygen however I don't like the way that one looks. How's it smell. When did you buy it?

Yeah Im with the others. Take that thing back. Surprised a butchershop sent you out the door with that!

That looks a return to butcher steak. With the good looking color on the rest, I do not think I would come near that.

Sidenote: Welcome to SMF!

Thank you for the replies! I will definitely be returning it...
I purchased it this afternoon and I don't believe its oxidation as the other parts of the meat look quite fresh.
