Hey all, one of my sous chefs birthday was the 24th & I got her her first BBQ set. She was really happy & asked what we could Q up & when. Well, Tuesday nite I had put some spares in TQ & brown sugar (separate thread) for some bacon on a stick... but told her we had some beef short ribs in the freezer & her eyes lit up, so we pulled em out to thaw. I said, you can do the short ribs & I'll do the bacon on a stick. Here's her new set of Q tools.
These were cut individual, which turned out to be ok. Seasoned half with Montreal Steak seasoning & half with SPOG. Sorry, no prep pics.
Had the GMG set at 225* & she started loading it up.
After a few hours, time to foil them for the braise... They were foiled for little over an hour.
Then back on the GMG til they were probe tender.
Bout half hour before they were done, the sous chef & her Mom wanted to put some BBQ sauce on half of them. So used some Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ sauce for these. The other half were kept dry at the other sous chef & my request.
Just off the smoker to rest for a few...

Had these with some homemade mac salad. Sure was a tasty meal, I'm real proud of my daughter & her first cook with short ribs. I think she done an excellent job on these. Just hope she still lets me help now & then. :biggrin:
