Yes they are. If you catch them on sale and don't see too many shiners they are a good deal because the meat is delicious. You have to really look close at the packages because the meatcutters will often get too close to the bones and they will have blowouts during cooking

The other option is to buy a bone-in roast, but request they leave the bones attached, then you remove them leaving more meat on the ribs. This is easy to do, then you slice the roast into steaks.

Thanks. I'll take a look the next time I'm there to see how they look. I just checked online, and they're only $4.83/lb, so I might have to buy a rack to distract me from doing my chores this weekend.

I but the full roasts every time they go on sale. Once at Christmas and then again at Easter to cut steaks and get my year's worth of tallow. I've thought about leaving extra meat on the ribs, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to lose the meat from the steaks.
