By chance i picked up a bottle of Apple Pie Rub from PS Seasonings. Last weekend i decided to make a few racks of baby back ribs on my LoneStar Grillz Pellet Smoker and decided to use the apple pie rub for a different flavor. I was very pleased with he outcome.

Today I am smoking Pork Briskets and decided to do one with the apple pie rub, and another with my favorite pork rub. To compliment the apple pie rub, i made a glaze using 1 part apple juice and 2 parts smoked honey BBQ sauce.

Something to try if you want to try pork with a different flavor.

The rub sounds really good, but pork brisket? Do you mean pork belly?

LOL, No Chris, There is such a thing as a Pork Brisket. However, I have only found this cut of meat at Porter Road in Nashville. Go on their website and check it out. They ship directly to your house. They also have .....are you ready for this - PIG WINGS!

Sounds good . I've had pork wings ( trimmed out of the shank ) they're really good .
I've always called the section that comes off of full spares trimmed to St. Louis style the brisket flap . That long narrow piece . That's what connects the ribs to the chest pectoral muscle , or the brisket .
