Anyone ever try Air Dried Hog Casings for salami?

No experience. But would still need to soak in salt water, guessing, days longer than salt crusted middles. Not sure of the benefits? Watching for sure Inda.
 
I used the dry hog Hukki casings, soak time is like 2 days. if you dont soak the meat will stick to the casings. They were a PITA

These were a major PITA. Soak soak and when your chubs are done soak the chubs again.

 
Thanks Rick. The ones I was looking at were smooth casings, not honeycombed. Wonder if that contributes to the PITA factor; Being honeycombed?
 
I have some of them in my fridge. I just never got around to using them........ sorry
