Hi folks,
Happy thanksgiving to all.
I just joined. I got the somking bug a while back after talking with friends, eating good comercial BBQ and seeing a BUNCH of youtube vids of homemade smokers.
I made mine from an old 100 lb propane tank and 2 5gal propane tanks for fireboxes. 4x4 square tubing for heat/smoke flues and 2 1/2 pipe for chimneys. Inside is heavy gauge stainless expanded steel for the rack. This thing is a work in progress and it's giving my little AC 130 Mig welder a good workout. 2 weeks ago on the intitial test run we smoked a pork shoulder. That led me to add the second firebox to even out and boost the temp.
Today is the maiden voyage. A turkey breast for our thanks giving dinner.
I'm looking forward to hearing from all. Esp the more experienced guys.
