I'm building my new smoker, a Masterbuilt 30" Analog, tomorrow. Looking forward to pre-seasoning it, too.

My most immediate question is protecting it from the elements. I had hoped to put in on my roofed porch, but it would too close to the wood rails, so it will go on an open patio. Is there a decent cover that can be relied on to get me through the winter, or should I haul inside after use until spring?

Looking forward to being part of the community!

Welcome to the site.

I'm not familiar with your smoker, but in my experience most metal things don't fair well under non breathable covers. The smoker, motorcycle, whatever, will sustain more humidity, trapped under the cover, than it will under a roof.

I would store it inside a shed or at least under a lean to type roof before I put a cover over it.

Welcome.. and good luck with the new smoker.. I would just get a big landscaping heavy duty plastic bag and put a bungee cord around it.
I don't cover my smokers at all. Lol

Have fun and be safe!

I have the cover for the mes-30. Water still comes through. I park mine in the garage after every time I use it. Kind of a pain but better than rusting out.
