My wife found some SRF Wagyu Bistro Filets on sale for 6.99/lb!!! So we had to do something special with them......

My wife made up some parmesan risotto then the filets were seasoned with SPOG and classic Olive and seared on the grill grated Webber (7min total). After resting 10 mins they were sliced and topped with some brown butter seared pearl onions and 1/4 baby Bella’s and garnished with some fresh chopped herbs.....

hard to believe this whole meal was less than a cheeseburger combo meal and McyDs.....

Sorry no prep pics, the whole thing happened in 25 min so no time to play around with the camera......

Nice! We are big Risotto fans and the price of that Wagyu is better than the local NY Strip sale at $8.99!...JJ

Looks delicious! I'll take a double please!

Ryan
Thanks Ryan, yes it was a double type meal for sure!

Looks great! I would devour that. I can't ever find those pearl onions anymore.
Thanks Brian, we only see them occasionally so when we do we grab some. They are just tasty little things!

Many thanks JJ! Oh yes Risotto is just one of those things that brings a smile. Yea, pretty crazy on the Wagyu price, last time we got them they were 11.99/lb

Looks perfect. Do you have SRF products locally?
Thanks thirdeye! Yes we can get SRF locally (at least some stuff). One of the local GS chains is a exclusive Double R beef seller, so hence the SRF Wagyu. They always have ground Wagyu (very tasty!) in stock and usually NY and Top Sirloin Wagyu as well. We eat LOTS of the Double R NYs.

looks so good! wow what a deal on the Wagu too! great looking plate!

SNF waygu filets? Sounds like you committed a crime at that price! Looks excellent man nice work once again!
Thanks SVOL!

SRF Waygu Bistro Filets.... which is also called a beef shoulder petite tender, which is also called the "teres major". Per SRF, It is a a seldom used muscle in the shoulder that is almost as tender as filet mignon. It is leaner and has a more beefy flavor over the TL. To me its like a NY flavor with a very tender sirloin texture. SRF gets 24/lb for their black grade on their web page.....When we paid 11.99/lb a while back for them I about fell over.....@ 6.99/lb.....just no words...My wife and boy did clean them out though!

Thanks Sandy!...Yea the price on the Wagyu is crazy good! I'm am hoping that they keep having sales like this cause they will move the product cause I will buy everything they have...ie....that is what a CC is for...LOL. This store is in an area of town that WON'T pay 24/lb for a piece of beef.......

Here is a what my boy turned the left overs into......

He took some Hakka Thick Cut Noodles (from Costco) that he added some more spices with some seasoned pasta water to it and then tossed some sliced Wagyu and topped them with some sliced greens and sesame seeds.

Holy Crap this was over the top good! I'm going to have to start paying the boy a salary if he keeps making stuff like this for me!
