Subject: Amazon Phishing Email

In this holiday season we are all busy trying to get our shopping done and a lot of us are doing our shopping online.

Yesterday, I received an email from “Amazon” indicating that they double charged me for something and were having problems giving my refund and that I should click the link and fill out the information it asked for to get my refund.

I had not bought anything on Amazon in about 6 months. Someone was trying to get me to give them my credit card information.  I mentioned it to someone else and they confirmed that the saw on the news broadcast that phishing emails were going out like the one I received.

In the season of travel and gift giving, don’t get distracted and give your personal information to anyone via email. I have started to go to the company’s website directly to login and address issue to avoid the potential of giving my information to the wrong person.

Hoping you’re the holiday season is full of joy and good food. Keep safe.
