So the wife brought home some beers from Sam's Club and of course they weren't cold, so I thought I'd chill a couple real quick in the freezer. I of course forgot about them and found them in this condition 16 or so hours later.

At least they didn't bust. Anyone for a cold one?

Did that a few times. Once or twice the cap flew off and some beer spilled. So when it happened again and I found the cap intact on the frozen bottle I thought "i'll just thaw it and is as good as new". Nope. It's undrinkable.

Good to cook with it though.

Anyone for a beer slushy?

These are still at the beer ice cube stage, frozen solid.

Sometimes I've noticed if you leave them in a few minutes too long they'll be liquid until you open it then a bit of ice forms at the top. That doesn't hurt anything, but this is fubar.

In the 70's, we hung out in the street year round. We would stick bottles of Bud in the snow bank, had to be discrete. They often would turn to slush when opened with concentrated alcohol at the bottom. We would toss the slush and drink the rest. Didn't take long to catch a buzz with a few of them...JJ

I did something similar with a few cans. I put them in the ice maker compartment then forgot about them. A little while later I was mixing up a drink and needed some ice. Put my cup under the ice spout and hit the button. It made a weird noise and next thing I knew there was beer pouring out of my ice maker. The auger for the ice maker crushed the can and busted it. Talk about a nice mess...

Yeah that'll be the issue with these. Once completely thawed everything should recombine I guess but'll probably reserve them for beer brats. Which isn't a bad end for a beer. Far better than a police officer making you pour them out like happened to me a few times as a teen.

Isn't that considered alcohol abuse?? :sausage:

I want to know what brand of refrigerator/ice maker you have.  Our auger would have difficulty snapping a graham cracker.
