AC took a dive

My AC quit working yesterday. Fan worked but not compressor. I keep an extra cap and contactor for just such a case. I put cap in this morning and nothing. Figured something else so called tech. They actually came out today. It was a bad cap. Not sure why the one I had did not work? It has spades in the middle which is not like the other one. At least it was something minor. I ordered another for spare.

OK now that I look at the image looks like the center is common and orange is cpt? At least I did not blow it up. Sometimes trying to save money just not worth it!

I have to (Just call the man) when my home ac quits.
I can keep my vehicles frosty cold though.
