Decided on a pork butt for the weekend. Got an almost 9 lb shoulder, hit it with Meat Church's gospel & honey hog. Let er roll at around 225 for a while, then ran about 275 as I got hungrier lol. I've used Kingsford charcoal for a long time now, but found some blues hog lump charcoal at wally world yesterday & figured I'd give it a try.

The Mrs. Threw together some pulled pork quesadillas tonight, with a few dollops of whipped cream cheese, Monty Jack cheese and a drizzle of some blues hog bbq sauce. Sure hit the spot while watching some football tonight. She also thought she could taste a difference with the lump charcoal, for the better. Might have to make a switch. Gotta go figure out what else to make tomorrow for the Bronco game tomorrow...
Thanks for lookin. 👍

Looks good and you inspired me to get going.
Got a couple of small money muscle cuts of pork to make into pulled one of these days.
Thanks, I snuck a couple chunks of the money muscle when I was pulling ... man was that good

Local Wally doesn't have Blues Hog, but they carry my usual go to Frontier. Saw they have B&B lump. May give that a go as I need another bag of coal.
I was surprised to find it at WM myself. They don't carry alot of variety in my area.

My select pieces of pork are thawing in the fridge to smoke sometime this week.
I go for the let it be method. Light a load of charcoal to start greying out. Start the smoke tube of pellets.
Pan the pork and cram all into my 18" Weber Jumbo Joe and let it go until the smoke is done. Wrap the pan and finish in the preheated oven. Wife is happy with the light kiss of smoke and touch of charcoal.

In central Florida population density there is a lot of Walmarts and they are not all the same. We have one across the street. We used to have drive to one 5 miles away to get oyster crackers for my wife. Luckily the local one now carries the store value brand crackers that my wife prefers.
