58 Butt Smoke w/Qview

Ok its over and I got 2 1/2 to 3 hours of sleep so it wasn't all that bad other than the rain which started before I went for the nap and still hasn't stopped. He put load one into the fridge after the rest and this morning loaded them into coolers again and somebody picked them up to take to hand out to the buyers. We finished load two and packed them into coolers and they will be delivered hot. Heres the final Qview
We decided to foil these at 165 to hurry things along a bit the first load wasn't foiled till they were done.

Here's a shot of one cooler of the cold butts with ice under them to haul away

and of course there was breakfast

Thanks for checking out the many butt adventure it really wasn't that bad just took awhile and the rain was a pain. Final total was 58 butts

They did sell the butts whole and the first load we took to 185-190 for slicing and the second load went to 200-205 for pulling and the abt's just went in our bellies

This was a fundraiser for a girl's softball team that travels a lot to tournaments so it was a good cause

Otherwise the only way to get on base would be by a walk, a sloooooww walk.
I would imagine that a lot of the parents bought butts. What a unique way to put some extra butts in the stands.


That was just simply a great thing for you to do. I hope that with a wholesale lot of butt cases you were able to get in on the lower price and perhaps buy a case for yourself???

Jerry this fund raiser has gone a long way in helping the girls raise enough money for a showcase in South Carolina this upcoming year and will get several of the young ladies seen by college coaches that otherwise would never have seen them play. Ultimately it means several young ladies will be on college radar screens and at the appropriate time it will lead to scholarships for them. We can't thank you enough for what you've done.

Jerry doesn't know it yet but he has been adopted by the girls as their team Mascot, umm.. wait their far too many wrong ways that title can go give the nature of the smoke we just finished we'll come up with a different designation for him. None the less he is one heck of a guy and all the girls, coaches, and parents on the team are extremely grateful to him for his efforts. In the summer he did a similar cook for my daughter to help her raise funds to play softball for team America and I have been simply amazed at his willingness to help.

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting Jerry I can tell you there isn't a finer person in the world and he's one heck of a cook too.

BTW anyone have any suggestions on how to stay awake all night? My personal butt is dragging right now and the kids are screaming for some dinner. Hmmm, wonder what we should have?

Jerry as I said before I left anytime you need something call and I'll do everything in my power to be there.

That was a blast. Going to have some butt now think I'm pulling mine.

That is simply incredible. Looks like you had those butts packed just about as tight as you could, and the picts tell the rest.
Not only was this a monumental smoke, it answered any "how full can I pack my smoker?" question I will ever have.
