Well I finally got started. I drilled 9 - 5/16 holes for racks and 2 - 1 7/16 holes for intakes. About 5:00 Monday I started a fire for burnout that I burned full on for almost 3 hours before covering. Last night I opened the two bung holes and still had a good 10 inches of hot coals. Talk about efficient, this morning it's still hot. It did a great job inside and for most of the outside. The rest I'll burn off this weekend in my buddy's fire pit. I put it up on my future discada burner to keep my grass from burning and that worked great with a little plywood under it.
Looking forward to the rest of the build! Thanks for all the inspiration!

I am absolutely amazed at the efficiency of the drum. It's been over 50 hours since I started a 2 1/2 hr. burn and she's still smokin and burnin.

Sorry so long to reply! My drum actually found me. I placed an ad on craigslist in the wanted section "looking for a straight sided barrel" and in about 3 weeks got a reply. The company it came from was an injection molding company. I believe the last one I saw on here said it had silicone in it which is consistent with the same type of company.

Good luck!
