3/22/18 KBB on Sale at Lowes thru 3/28/18

Lowes has 2x18.6 lb Kingsford Blue Bags on sale for $12.88 thru 3/28, that's 35 cents/lb. Reg price is $20. If history repeats itself, as it has for the last several years, both Lowes and Home Depot will have the same KBB on sale for Memorial Day weekend for $10. So just pick up enough to get you through until MD.

Home Depot still has Royal Oak Lump for $9.97 for 15.44 lbs. That's about the best price I've seen in the last several years for RO Lump, excluding end of season sales at grocery stores, etc.

I've only got one day of rain predicted in the next two weeks. Time to start smoking out the freezer! My condolences to those buried in snow. I've seen the pics. Wow.

Thank you. Down to about 2 pounds here of the KBB. Before became a smoker, I stocked up on 4 bags two years ago. Wife tried to talk me into getting more at the $10 /2 bag price but I wouldn't listen. Hope the sale is good in KY too. Will check. Don.

Wow, I've been working on my novel non-stop this weekend, exchanging notes and reading sections with beta readers. Glad I took a break and stopped in. Time to stock up on RO Ridge!

$2 a bag for KBB, just under 11 cents a pound, would be just about impossible to pass up.

Went to Lowe’s on Friday and yes Royal Oak briquettes are 2 bags for eight dollars. Sale price is good thru the 28th I believe. So, I stocked up.

ROR was not showing as on sale at Lowes on Sat, but rung up as $4/ bag. I got ten

I went to my local Lowes this morning and ended up having almost a 90 minute conversation in the aisle about smoking meat with two new friends! One is using a UDS, the other a Kamado type. We all had a ball!

I picked up eight bags of ROR. Had to pick through a lot of broken, ripped, and powdery bags to find those. Going to head off to another Lowes after lunch for more. If I factor in the old KBB I've been using up in the Kettle, I'm on track to use 31 bags of ROR in 12 months. Ten left in the garage, eight in the back of my truck, looks like I need 14 more to get me to this point in 2019, with a little gravy.

I love buying charcoal!
