after seeing a bunch of other posts on this sale at Kroger over the summer - finally got it here. Picked up 2. cant pass up <$30 for a near 15 lb brisket. they were pretty nice too, choice and bendy - not too much hard fat etc. Happy Day!

One went right to the freezer the other will be smoked my next week when my daughter and her husband come to visit.

$1.99 is awesome. Our Kroger affiliate sponsors our BBQ team, and my buddy's's son worked there in his senior year at HS and part time while in college. We got the heads up last week about this sale.... so we did a group buy of 8 cases , which was 490 pounds of brisket. My buddy took orders from our circle of friends, picked them all up one morning and delivered them. Since we had cases, I knew the kill date and I plan on wet aging mine for at least 2 weeks, maybe more. Because of the killer price, a lot of people are going to remove points, and grind the flats. The only downside is, it's best to cook brisket burgers (or American Wagyu) outdoors because of the splatter.

I picked up 6 to stash for a rainy day.
If I only had a place for that many :(
If you can afford it you may want to go back and get a couple more.
See above :)

I tried to get the wife on board with buying a chest freezer - couldnt make that one happen. gotta pick our battles right.
