I volunteer me and my cooker 2 days  (this past wed and fri) out of the year to cook hot dogs for the special Olympics at ravencroft high school in Raleigh NC. I usually cook about a thousand a day but this year it was only 720 each day. Each Olympian gets a bag full of goodies with a hot dog and bun wrapped in foil..... This is my fifth year and I enjoy volunteering, seeing their excitement looking for that hot dog in the bag. They had a catering service cook them before me and they would burn the dogs and the Olympians would not eat the black hot dogs...

Thanks for looking

Way to go!

If there's one thing I've learned from hanging out with my cousin (he has Downs) is (and I'm generalizing here) that they (mentally challenged people) love hot dogs and love to see people helping others.  Some of the best days of my life have been volunteering at various special olympics.

good for you, i'm sure they appreciated it!
