“Philly” Cheesesteaks and “Quakertown” Webers

We were about due for some Cheesesteaks.
I asked Mrs Bear “What you want for Supper?”
She said “How about some Cheesesteaks?”
Sounded good to me, so below you can see my First Night’s "Philly Cheesesteaks",(Originated in Philly—1930), and my Second Night’s "Webers" (Originated in Quakertown, PA—40 miles North of Philly—Early 1950s).

Note: Sometimes I add fried onions, Mushrooms, and Hot Peppers, but not this time.

This time I mixed the Lettuce & Tomato & Miracle Whip together first, and then added the Chip Steak & Cheese, instead of mixing everything together first, and then adding the Cheese.
I haven’t decided which I like Best—Both ways are Awesome!!

Note: We never add anything else to a Weber.

We have these at least once a Month, and Love them!!

Enjoy the Pics,

Bear

First Night's Supper---2 Small Cheesesteaks for the Bear.

My favorite Steak Sandwich Sauce on rolls, and add a pile of Chipped Steak:

Top each one with some Cheese to Melt (Prefer Provolone). Pickles on the side:

Second Night's Supper---One Small Weber for the Bear.

Coat the Steak Roll with Miracle Whip (Mayo if you like it bland):

Then add a mix of Lettuce, Tomato & MW or Mayo:

Top that with a pile of Chipped Steak:

they look tasty bear, that reminds me I think it's lunch time, unfortunately no cheese steaks here:emoji_angry: so looks like a ham and cheese sammie!

Man that made me hungry, Looks great !!

Awesome could you move a little closer to the area I travel in. I think you are about 1 hour away from there. :emoji_wink:
Sure could use a sammie.

Looks good . Having beef sandwiches tonight . I might have to go the Weber route . That's one I have not had .

I honestly had never heard of a Weber sandwich before Bear posted his. Because I like a good cheesesteak sammie, I had to google it. Pretty neat story. Once again Bear, Great looking vittles!

That Link was from our local newspaper. (Allentown Morning Call)
As for "Smitty's", that was my Hang-out from when I was 16 until I went to Vietnam. It was a little like "Arnold's" on Happy Days. Guys drove the loop through Quakertown (Down Broad Street to downtown, and back up Broad through Smitty's). We used to eat there nearly every night, pick up girls, get in Rumbles (fights), and all kinds of fun stuff. I kept going there for Eats, until it closed, and turned into "Mr D's". It was handy while I worked at Bethlehem Steel, because I could go there with my dirty clothes on, because you didn't have to go in---You just ordered with one of the many talk-boxes & a girl would bring your food out to you. All I ever ate there was Cheesesteaks, Webers, and occasionally some Fries.

As usual looks great! I think I'd go with the first one over the second though. I'm more of a traditional cheesesteak kind

Thank You John!!
If you had access to both, you'd probably be like me. In all my days, I've probably eaten about 5 Cheesesteaks to every 1 Weber. I love them both, but I usually go for the Cheesesteak---Plus there's only a couple places that make a Weber like Smitty's used to make them.
Actually "The Pub" in Quakertown is the only place that makes a Weber exactly like Smitty's used to, back in the 60s. And most times I get down there, I bring 2 or 3 of them home with me.

Looks good Bear. I've never had an authentic cheese-steak sammy but have enjoyed some of the imitations, and I've never heard of the Quaker-weber. Both look scrumptious.

Point for sure

Thank You Jim!!
I used to eat a lot of Ham & Cheese, but I cut way back on Ham Lunchmeat, because of the high sodium content, and my Congested Heart Failure & CKD.
And Thanks for the Like.

Thanks!!
Could say I was weaned on Philly Cheesesteaks, Webers, Pork Roll, Scrapple, Wild Game, and Shad Roe.
Still love them all, among other things.

Thank You Chris!
Yeah, Webers don't leave the 30 mile radius from Quakertown very much.
However many places make a Sammy that's similar. Some call them "Cheesesteak Hoagie", but they are quite the same, and not as tasty.
And Thanks for the Like.

The Webers you posted are called California cheese steaks around central PA. I prefer a "Italian" steak : meat, sauce, fried onions and provolone cheese (I also get mayo, all good sandwiches should have it).
