Yet another Newbie!

Hello everyone.

Everyone tells me I'm crazy but I want to build a smoker and start to smoke some pork and briskets.  I'm originally from Canada where when you say BBQ everyone thinks of burgers and hot dogs.  Well...... After spending alot of time in Alabama for work I learned what BBQ really is.  Thank the lord for Dreamland!   Leaving outside of Philadelphia now and just can't find BBQ like I got down south so I am deciding to do something about it.  Hopefully I can start a  new fad up here.  Anyways looking to build my own smoker and learning to smoke.  Can't wait to dig in.

Drop the $18 for Jeff's dry rub and sauce recipes, or however much it costs.  They're worth every penny.

And I hear you about people thinking BBQ = grilling a hot dog.  We've got that problem out here in a huge way.  My family knows to be very careful how they use the term BBQ around me.

Good to see you here.  I've had that same reaction from some friends up north; "What do you mean BBQ joints are on every corner down there, I can't find them anywhere here."  Time to start smoking!
