Made a 2-hour run over to the coast to fill up on rockfish and crabs for the last time this year, the freezer's all set up for the winter.

Managed to get all the crab picked without having to run to the medicine cabinet, certainly a moral victory. Some fried lingcod for dinner tonight, work on a batch of crab ravioli tomorrow, get back on the Sacto river looking for salmon on Friday. RAY

Dang, I miss being close to the Coast. I love Seafood and it's too high here in Ohio. I'm used to going to Galveston or Rockport and hitting -up the relatives and friends (work a day for all I want).

I would sometimes go to a friend in La. and get Crawdads. 100lb. sac

Tasty looking Dungies! Only thing I miss about living at the coast and working on the ocean, fresh seafood.
We talk a lot about moving north to the Medford - Ashland area, I really like the look of things up that way. It's a ways from the coast but being there wouldn't work for my wife, she hates the cold.. We're both natives of San Francisco and truly love it around here but it's become swamped with people, and water I fear is going to be a much bigger problem than it already is. I love being out on the ocean but every year it seems to be a little more painful on my knees and hips. Hell, if I was a horse they'd shoot me.

I went fishing out of Galveston a few years back, we were there in the middle of July, caught some nice redfish. Aside from that all I did there was sweat. We went back a few years later in November, went goose hunting in Katy. Had a great breakfast at I place where I met Roger Clemens, really nice guy. It's just plain too hot for me to ever think of being there for too long. RAY
