It's pretty small, but 90% of the time I'm only smoking 3-4 racks of ribs or 2-butt's or a brisket. It's 2 hours from my house, but I know the owner, and it's a steep discount from buying new. Would you do it?

Well, thank you all for the amazing input. :emoji_laughing: :emoji_laughing: :emoji_laughing:

I bought it for $300, it's been stored inside and only been used twice.
To be honest, I'm not expecting much, but figured I can sell it using my wife's FB marketplace for more than I'm buying it for.

I miss not having an offset, and I have 3 cords of Oak wood that was cut last summer. Worse case scenario, I can cut the top off of it and turn it into a real Santa Maria grill.

Well... considering you posted at 10:16 PM (most people are done veiwing by then)... And then respond at 12:50 AM (little more than 2.5 hrs between post)... Didn't give anybody much of a chance to reply...

Myself.. I don't know anything about that particular smoker so I have no input... But, You certainly got it at a good price...

ENJOY

For $400, yes, I'd buy it for the same reasons you posted...
The guy I bought it from is somewhat of a friend, actually a friend of a friend.
I spoke with him last night to get a few details about the smoker, and asked him what his bottom dollar was, he knows that I'm almost two hours away from him so he said bring me $300 today, and it's mine. I guess his wife want it out of the garage. :emoji_laughing:
I'm driving up to pick it up this evening when he gets home from his daughter's Trap tourney. :emoji_thumbsup:

There is way more than $300 In material and labor there for sure. I’m a sucker for smokers so yea I’d buy it. Like to see the air inlet on the door and fire grate though.

You are joking, right, have you seen the time stamps on some peoples posts? I started the thread at 7:30 PM and there were 87 views by 9:00 PM. Then your response was "Today at 3:09 AM":emoji_laughing:
This site is at least 50% old men that are either insomniacs or they have to get up to take a leak 3X a night, then we have western time zones.
Anyhow, my response to my orig. question was in jest.

Have a great weekend.
Dan.

I just got home with it, there are two 3'' to 3.1/2'' vent holes with sliding flappers to adjust the air flow. This is build way better than I expected, he wasn't kidding when he said it is heavy. I have no idea how thick the steel is, it's less than 1/4'' but it's way heavier than my old original Oklahoma Joe. The fire box is pretty small though, we'll see how she runs with in the next day or two. Even though it only has two cooks on it, there is surface rust on it, so I'll most likely power wash it with a degreaser, hit the rust with a drill brush, repaint the whole thing with satin paint, it's easier to keep clean, then season all the bare metal.
It will be a fun little project for me, like I need more to do around here. :emoji_laughing:

All, and all, I like it so far, and I know that I can get at least $500 for it on market place if I decide that I don't want to keep it.

Looking forward to your first cook on it and report how it runs. How fun….
