I have an early model Meater wireless thermometer. It will not transmit the data via Bluetooth when inside the steel enclosure of the smoker.

I have a ThermoPro 4 probe set with a remote WiFi screen that I have been using for a couple of years and have not been disappointed with it. It is 28% off now at Amazon.

Usually I only rely on the main screen just outside the smoker that the probes plug into but if I have other stuff going on I turn on the remote screen and it works everywhere around the house.

I have had other Blu tooth ones before and they would lose contact if they were too far away or the back door was closed. I have not had any problems with this one.

EDIT: I like this best because I don't have to add an app on my phone to monitor it remotely.

I love my Fireboards. They are one of the earliest generation iterations and I have zero issues with them. Both Bluetooth and cloud access are flawless.

Definitely look at Thermoworks. Signals unit works great and I used it a bunch until the RFX came out which is more expensive (depending on how many probes you need) but eliminates all the plugin probes.

I have a whole drawer full of cheaper ones .
Have a signals which is awesome .
Temp spike that I like .
Air probe 2 , don't use it much .
Had to resort back to an old Thermo Pro TP-08 a could weeks ago , when all my high end ones were dead . Put some batteries in it and off she went .
Wow . Just went to thermworks website and saw this special . $155.00 for a signals . That's a killer price .

Last year I bought a Thermopro Spike XR. After using it one time the receiver died. Blank screen. Trying to charge didn't help. Amazon sent me a replacement. It lasted two months and the same thing happened. The base unit died. No screen. I called Thermopro and we did some troubleshooting over the phone and they agreed the unit was faulty and sent me a third one. I still have the third one new in the box. I got so aggravated with Thermopro I ordered a Thermoworks RFX.
