Hi all,

I have a Weber Grill which I hope to use for smoking, a Masterbuilt 30" which I just bought and a kitchen oven.

I'd like to have a thermometer 'kit' which will give me several meat and ambient probes.

Best case I'd like to have a probe in the turkey in the oven and one in meat on the grill (high temp) and something in the smoker, but I'll settle for only being able to service one station at a time.

I definitely need an ambient temp sensor so that I can properly adjust my gas grill when using as a smoker.

What specific makes/models are my 'best' choices (I know there will likely be more than one)?

Thanks everyone.

Andrew

There are several choices depending on budget. Luckily there are some good sales this time of year. For a wired choice that does not break the bank try ThermoPro TP930. Another good choice is a ThermoWorks Smoke. Both have wires so you cannot use it in two different places. There are a few wireless choices now...but the tech is still evolving a bit.

I run an Inkbird IRF-4s multi probe unit. It has one grate probe and 3 meat probes, but they will all have to be run on one cooker at a time. I also have an instant read from them. These therms are all rechargable, so no batteries to buy.

I also have an SV cooker from them and have had no problems with it, either.

While I have, in a recent thread, questioned their "Free trial" policies, I've had zero problems from the Inkbird products I own.

Thermopro is good stuff. I have a couple of instant read.

I stepped up and got a Thermoworks Signals last winter. Oh baby I love that thing.
I have 10 different probes for it.
I also learned something, the Thermoworks probes work in my Expert Grill (Walmart brand) that the OE probes died.
Thermoworks has a huge holiday sale going on right now. That was how I justified the Signals last year as even on sale they are still pricey, but oh so worth it.

If I am reading your post right... Your wanting probes for each cooking device at the same time... Are all three of these side by side... back to back... That's the way it would have to be If your thinking one unit with 3 or 4 probes... Otherwise you would have to have , at minimum, 2 seperate units... Oven in the house, grill and smoker (side by side) outside...

Another vote for the Thermoworks camp...

The RFX is very new and there are some kinks TW diligently is working through regarding battery life on the reporting probes. So far I've got them up to 17+ hours with firmware updates. Enough for a long brisket smoke but not near the 50+ hours stated. They did put out another update yesterday and I'm testing that this morning. They're a very good company and I think they'll get there.
