Cheap and disposable. Mostly synthetic 2-3" paint brushes...JJ

JJ I see what your saying, but my experience has been the cheap disposable  brushes loose a bristle now & then. Don't want that in my dinner. Are there ones that don't loose any bristles?

myself.. I go cheap and disposable as well.... I use a water bottle and poke a hole in the cap... I've noticed when using a brush it wipes the rub off.....

Yep...Synthetic material, but even the ones you describe, only lose hairs after many uses. I test for fibers falling out before I use one. A couple of tugs and no worries. I like and have used cotton mops but they are a PITA to clean and I mop so infrequently that cotton is not worth my trouble...JJ

I voted silicone brush.

I was skeptical about the silicone brushes at first.. then I got one in a raffle basket. I love that it doesn't waste any sauce, never looses a bristle, and rinses perfectly clean.

I guess if you have a LOT of meat to cover in a short time while the lid is open, then a cotton mop would probably haul more sauce to the meat and get the job done better, shorter.

I also noticed that as well....however I now use my brush' to "dab" the sauce on as opposed to "brushing" it on.

I've been using silicon brushes for about 3 years now.  I like that they are easy to clean and don't leave any bristles on the meat.  I've never tried a mop, however have been itching to get one.
