Please forgive me, this may have been discussed before.  Also please forgive me for my sick sense of humor, I served in the infantry and have worked in law enforcement for the past 11 years.

So as you may or may not know, I'm very new to this forum.  I only found it just a few days ago and immediately joined.  Well, in the past day or three, everyone that I tell about his forum, because it's great, has given me the hairy eyeball when I tell them the name.  Again, I have worked in a prison for the past 11 years so telling someone that I've joined a forum named Smoking Meat or joined a Meat Smoker's forum isn't really going over too well if you catch my drift.

I just wanted to put that out there, more for the humorous side of it because I don't care who you are, that stuff if funny.  Please don't ban me from the forum now. LOL

Hahaha this post made me laugh because every time I mention the name of this forum to someone I laugh inside and often they do too.  I guess its because as men, not matter how old we are,  we are all really just 14 year old dopey kids on the inside.

Hahaha my wife makes fun of me too whenever I mentioned. Not so much for the sexual connotation but for the nerdiness of reading about, looking at, and posting pictures of meat.

I get both!  She bags on me all of the time for being on forums.  She says that we're worse than women.

This makes me laugh, cuz Mrs. Red calls all my forum buddies my "Smoking Nerds".  She likes to poke fun, but at least she admits that I'm a better cook because of all my "smoking nerds".

My wife will look at me sitting next to her on the couch and say, "Are you on your forums again?" or "What are you doing, on your forums again?".  Every time that I tell her of a new idea or something that I saw on the forum she first smiles and rolls her eyes before reluctantly listening to me.

Yo Big!  I don't see why you're blaming your warped distorted sense of humor on having been a grunt.  I spent 29 years as one and never met anyone strange....  Yeah, right!?

It's no wonder grunts get a bit warped with thier humor.  They get exposed to things and thoughts most folks don't have to deal with.  As an example on the mild side, any organization that drives around with its lights on during daylight and off at night is going have a few folks who are half a bubble off level for the civilian world.

As for your developmentally stunted coworkers, wait till you tell them you're going right home because a new friend is going to help rub your butt.  Or that you're looking forward to a fattie for Sunday breakfast.  Or that your new friend is going to help you grind and stuff your sausage.  Or maybe........ 

Oh, and as a former combat arms type you get to start stories with things like " So there we were...surrounded!....knee deep in hand grenade pins and expended AT4s...."

Thank you for your service and enjoy not being lie everyone else.  You earned the right the hard way.

I spend my days messing with my two buddies who were an MP and artillery.
