they sell choice cryovac packers but they order prime at higher price .

GFS or Gordons Food Service has Choice Brisket with the deckle off advertised on sale this week for $2.49lb in the Indianapolis area at least

Just picked up a case of prime packers for a steal! Guy Said he ordered 10 cases for a BBQ joint and put on an extra case which he sold to me so I got the bulk price!

I checked today on prices for brisket at local stores. wallyworld price is $7.99/lb. Publix price is $8.99/lb. Guess it will be a while before I get to enjoy brisket again.

Picked up a brisket here in SE Michigan, GFS, $2.49 as the poster above found.

Girl said the sale ends the 9th, but she wasn't 100% on it. I'll get another one for the freezer I guess. Hoping to cook this one on Friday. It'll be my first try at brisket.

Checked brisket price at Walmart few days ago and it was it was 2.75 I think. Felt like a rock. Is that normal bad? Called some butcher shops and most were around 8$ per pound. Seems kinda crazy for a super tuff piece of meat. For another butcher for 3.25 a pound. I'm going to check that place out soon!

I'm seeing beef prices drop here in NorCal. They don't get as low as what some of you report back east, but not far off. Over the summer, brisket jumped up from the low $3-$3.50/lb range, to the mid $5s at my grocer. Choice packers are back to $3.38/lb. Prices were still high at Costco last weekend. I took a quick look at tri tips and rib eyes, didn't like what I saw, and never checked the briskets.

I saw some dragon tongue ( what my wife calls a packer brisket) for $2.96/# at wally world a couple days ago. regular price it seems. most of them were select but they occasionally get a choice for the same price.

Packers are 1.96 here. HEB has them cheapppp. What grade are you looking for?
