Just saw this. A friend of mine has  had one of those Weston slicers - it left him down at a critical time & it wasn't very old. Luckily I was home & he was able to rush over & I got out the Hobart & saved the day...  He has since purchased a Chef's Choice from Cabelas & hasn't had a bit of trouble with it.

I just chatted with CS at Overstock about cancelling my order. I told them I wanted to cancel so I could buy a better slicer from their site. The guy said to just contact them when I get it in the mail for return and give them the chat reference number so I don't have to pay return shipping. I guess I'll go back to Amazon and buy my first choice of slicers, the Chef's Choice 609 and non-serrated blade.
