you can use it, but keep in mind the thickness of the walls in a fridge are more than 1 1/4", that means if you use this element the control will be inside the wall. You will have to build a box into the wall that the plug will fit in and allow you to adjust the temp. Not a convenient set up, more work than it is worth.
