Sounds tight and leak proof.
Might be an issue if you ever need to replace the firebox....
By the time the firebox burns out I'll be getting a handmade in the U.S. offset smoker. Worst case scenario, cutting disc and grinder. But I would definitely just upgrade the entire thing instead of sinking money into this one.

I partial welded my longhorn reverse flow and added RTV. In process of welding top lid shut and installing yoder door on side. Will then insulate box with a 55gal drum or sheets of SS

like you this is to get me through this year until I start my Outlaw Patio Clone in a few months
