When I grill on the kettle I usually cook up a side or two as well. Space runs out quickly on the 22” so it was between upgrading to the 26” or trying out the upper deck. So I tried the cheaper option first

Tonight I did four 1/2 lb pesto turkey burgers with 2 lbs of mini bell peppers marinated in white wine vinegar, garlic and olive oil.

Without the new upper deck everything would have been piled on top of each other. The jury is still out on this thing but so far it looks like a promising solution to increasing my real estate on the 22 kettle.

After charring all the peppers they were all moved indirect with some space to spare.

Nice addition. Dang! You really love Peppers with your Burgers!!! I know, I are one of you.☺ Roasted Peppers...Red Bells, Pablanos, Green Anahiem ( can't get Hatch at a decent price) all make a great topper for burgers, sandwiches or with Eggs and Fried Onions. I have been Obsessed with Grilled or Fried Shishito Peppers the last couple of months. Even simply salted as a snack. Playing, " Russian Roulette " with them is half the fun. On average they are Sweet, but every few are Fiery and wake you up!...JJ

I’m with you on grilled Shishitos! After cooked sprinkle a little cotija cheese on top with a drizzle of lime garlic crema to top them off. Mmmmm mmm.

What's wrong with using the bun warmer rack that comes with some Kettles ? I got one when I bought a new Master Touch last summer. And I already had one.

I saw recently, someone had used two of the bun warmers at the same time along with a Vortex, and they had both levels stacked with wings.

I didn’t already have the bun warmer or a vortex so this was a cheaper option. Also the upper deck gives you almost half a full grate of extra real estate.

Nice
A repurposed performer?
I'd love one, but don't have the space right now.

Its a standard stand alone 22” kettle. I wanted a performer for the table aspect but I picked this up used for $35 four years back. Took the legs off and made this table for it.

Cool. Great build.
I got my kettle as a "kicked to the curb" freebie.
Did your kettle come with the rear handle or did you make it?

It did come with the rear handle. I’m sure the hardware store should have a handle that’ll work if yours doesn’t have two. But a lot of people mount using L brackets under the lip of the lower bowl versus using the handles.

Man thats nice. Wanting to do something so I dont feel like im at my knees cooking.,
Jim

Exactly how I felt.
