I just realized that nobody had posted this question yet this year. So I will.
What did you get for Christmas??
I'll start the ball rolling. I made out like a bandit. I got:
--a Thermoworks Smoke
--marinating attachment for my Foodsaver
--2 books
--Barbeque Sauces, Rubs, & Marinades
--The Flavor Bible (JJ's choice for best)
--a BIG, clear, skull jug of "Just Like Fire" hot sauce (ghost peppers, etc)
--and to put meat in the MES, a Mark 2 in 22 caliber

Teri decided I should move up to the 21st century and gave me a Tappecue WiFi thermometer. It’s pretty dang fancy.
My old Maverick Thermometer will be given to my son. ...once I figure out how to work the Tappecue! B

I received a jerky gun and loads of spices some different types of hot sauces and early this year I needed a new thermometer and I got a Therma Smoke which is a great item.

My wife and I don't exchange gifts, during the course of a year, we treat ourselves to many nights out and fine dinning.
We also, buy ourselves whatever we want during the year. Now with that being said, I have bought myself just about every toy possible :D, and I'm running out of things to buy :(.
However, our Christmas was the best, we had each other, and the day was fun.

The Smoke is so simple, even I had it figured out in 2 mins. My Maverick 733 will go to my Son-in-Law.

I know what you mean. We do pretty much the same thing, but still give gifts at Christmas. It sure does make it hard to find that special something.

We finally stopped buying gifts for each others a couple yrs ago, Now we draw names and set some limits, although I usually get one under the tree for the wife and it pisses her off...lolol.
I did buy us a vacmaster 380 and love it. I also got a knife I asked for from outdoor edge. All in all it was good.

Good deal Charlie. Miss Linda and I pretty much tell each other what we'd like but don't really feel justified buying for ourselves. Works for us. We also always pick something special for each other.
There's always just been the two of us and Miss Linda's daughter. Now there's a son-in-law, an my soon to be grandson.

Judy & I don't exchange gifts either. We just get what we want all year long.
This year the big items were my 727 HP Mustang, & her hot tub.
It's been a good year for us & can only hope 2018 will be a good one for us & all of you too!

My wife and I are in the same boat, we stopped exchanging gifts a few years ago. I did however get her a planer and some 2ft clamps for her workshop, and I upgraded from a 03 truck to a 2012. Gotta love auto-start when it's -18.

For sure Gary that Smoke is awesome much better then the maverick I had before so easy to set.

As many have said on here we do the same just more or less buy what we want throughout the year and I like it better that because I buy what I want in quality and brand so to speak and she does the same (I'mvery good at buying sewing Stuff) everybody have a great New years.

Santa was pretty good to me this year. No smoking related goodies, but I did receive a selection of hot sauces ranging from "mildly uncomfortable" Habanero to "I hope your health insurance is up to date" Ghost pepper.

I also got a Lodge carbon steel skillet. Haven't used it much yet, but it seems solid and well made, so I think it's a winner.

Happy new year everyone!!
