I have never shot one, but my son had one for his ex wife and liked it. My wife has had a Bersa and a Khar and liked then pretty well. She is looking for a smaller one for her pocket book and has been trying the S&W Bodyguard. We went to the range last week and she thought it was great.

Try several until you are comfortable with what it will be used for and how it fits your hand.

I have put thousands of rounds through this model. As is typical of blowback designs, the recoil spring is quite stiff, to the point many people find it to be a problem when chambering a round. The trigger pull-weight is also very heavy.

 
This aside, the Walther is accurate and compact, with a good feel in most people's hands.

You can,t go wrong with a Walther , they have always made quality firearms.My wife carries a Ruger 101 in 357,hard to beat'em for a lady.Just point and shot.

Our office manager just got a 380 Smith&Wesson and I had to explain that you don't use your finger and thumb to chamber. Overhand back and let go. She went through a box a couple of weeks ago and got it down. I'm sure Walther is a good make. They've been around for a long while...
Kind of partial to 38 snubs myself.

My Best friend bought a PPK for his late wife years ago. It was an awesome firearm. Never failed. It reliably ate any ammo we fed it and accuracy was surprizingly great, very pointable. Only place she went without it was the grave (breast cancer).
