Hi all! First let me thank each and everyone for your concerns, positive thoughts and prayers during this horrific wildfire season that has been raging across this beautiful country of ours! I heard today there are approximately 70 wildfires burning nationwide.

The Waldo Canyon Fire is officially 98% contained, but with all the rain we are now getting from the monsoon flow rains, it won't be long before it's 100% contained.

So we've gone from the state is burning to flash flooding and slides. Drove down the pass this morning, and from the rain we've been getting over the past few days, we are experiencing flash flooding and there was a small slide down along the highway. But we'll be okay.

This picture was posted on our local news Facebook page of the water running down the creek that runs parallel to the highway and the burn area

its the road to recovery but nasty stuff.

Sounds like the Rain is a week or so too late. Be careful and stay Safe...JJ

Thanks guys! Fortunately we are out of the way for now of any flash flooding in the burn area, and yes it will take a long time for recovery. The Hayman fire burned in 2002 and there's still flash flooding there after all these years.
