I really thought Spring had made it to the Rockies, we woke up to rain showers yesterday morning and they continued throughout the day (with some snow showers mixed in). Went to bed last night and woke up this morning to 6-8 inches of HEAVY WET SPRING SNOW, power outages since 4 AM and schools closed.

Our snow pack is down again this year and we've been having burn restrictions since mid January, so this should help with both those situations and lastly, snow isn't as likely to cause major flooding and mud slides over the Waldo Canyon Burn Scar.

Oh well tis life in the Rockies!!!

I think ya'll forgot to check the calendar, it's MAY!!!!

I won't even tell you about the weather over here all week!

Must make spring fever higher now than most years, Alesia!  It's been a strange year for extreme weather here too.  Last week, we got measureable snowfall in May for the first time in recorded history in Northeast Oklahoma!  Mrs. Red had already put ferns and potted flowers out on the porch, she's had to move it all to the garage twice now because of freeze/frost warnings.

It's really kooky Red...we took atvs out riding a couple weekends ago cause we had 60's. Guess I was wrong on the snow fall totals...8-10 inches and I don't have any TV cause I can't get the stuff off the satellite dish!!!!

Crazy for sure, we're under a Winter Storm Warning til Noon and saying we could get a total of a FOOT or more when it finally ends. Also a Flash Flood Watch until 6 PM and Significant Weather Advisory for the Waldo Canyon Burn area.
